Following electrolysis blemish removal, some redness, tenderness and small crusts or scabs may develop. Healing time varies depending on the blemish and area treated.
• Keep the area clean and gently pat dry. Wash your hands before applying any recommended aftercare product.
• Do not pick, scratch or rub the area. Allow any crusts or scabs to fall away naturally.
• Use only the aftercare products recommended by your practitioner, following the instructions provided.
• Avoid make-up, perfume and harsh skincare products directly on the treated area until the skin has healed.
• Avoid hammam treatments, steam rooms, saunas, hot baths and strenuous exercise initially. Your practitioner will advise when these can safely resume.
• Avoid swimming and soaking the area until the skin has healed.
• Avoid scrubs, exfoliating acids, retinoids, waxing and shaving over the area until healed.
• Protect the area from sunlight. Once the skin has closed, apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 and avoid sunbeds.
Always follow the personalised aftercare instructions given at your appointment.
If you develop increasing pain, spreading redness, warmth, swelling, pus or a fever, seek advice promptly from your GP or NHS 111.
For aftercare questions, contact HK Hammam on 020 3441 9797.

Aftercare
Give your skin time to settle following electrolysis or skin blemish removal. Follow the personalised aftercare instructions provided at your appointment, as guidance varies with the treatment and area.
Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching, rubbing or picking it. Allow any small scabs to fall away naturally.
Avoid applying make-up or fragranced products to the area until advised. Your practitioner will explain when you can return to exercise, swimming, steam rooms and hammam treatments, and how to protect the skin from sun exposure.
If you notice increasing redness, warmth, swelling, discharge or persistent pain, seek medical advice.
